Marcie Kelly

My name is Marcie Kelly, and I’ve been proudly volunteering with the American Cancer Society since 2014. My journey began when I was invited to share my personal cancer story at Lobby Day at the Capitol. We were fighting to pass legislation protecting teens from the dangers of tanning beds—and we succeeded. That experience showed me the power of advocacy, perseverance, and community.

Since then, I’ve continued to serve in various roles with ACS. I’m currently honored to be the Chair of the 2026 Cattle Baron’s Ball. This is my third year working alongside an incredible team of passionate and dedicated individuals.

I give my time to this cause not only because of my own cancer journey, but because I want to be a support for those who are walking a similar path. No one should go through this alone.

This year we want to highlight some of our firefighters and the disproportionate battle they are facing with cancer due to their occupation. Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. Yet, behind the bravery and heroism lies a sobering truth: firefighters face significantly higher risks of developing cancer due to occupational exposures. American Cancer Society believes early detection is key to preventing more deaths from cancer, and that’s why we are coming together to highlight how to keep those who protect us safe and end cancer for more firefighters.
